Homicide Investigation in New Orleans

NOPD Homicide Division Investigating Shooting Deaths on Petit Bayou Lane
New Orleans, LA – Members of the New Orleans Police Department's Homicide Division are investigating the apparent shooting death of a 31-year-old local female and a 35-year-old local male.  The names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of family members.  The offense occurred shortly after 12:00 A.M., at 22 Petit Bayou Lane.
           According to investigators, Seventh District officers responded to a call of a "shooting" and upon their arrival, the officers located the victims inside their residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to their bodies.  Emergency medical technicians arrived on the scene and pronounced both victims dead.
          The preliminary investigation indicates that this murder may have been drug related due to the fact there were narcotics found inside of the residence.The 31-year-old female has prior arrests for illegal possession of crack cocaine, a court capias, and prior to her death was currently wanted in South Carolina for illegal possession of marijuana.
