Shooting in New Orleans

        On Thursday January 13, 2011, at or about 7:00 p.m., Detective Nicholas Williams manning unit 1526, had the occasion to investigate a signal 34S relative to aggravated battery (shooting), in the 2000 block of Benton Street.
       Upon arrival Detective Williams spoke to the owner of the residence at which time she stated that as she was sitting at her kitchen table talking to her brother she heard multiple gunshots and observed smoke filling the interior of the residence. After the smoke cleared she observed the victim laying in the hall way of the residence suffering from gunshot wounds. Detective Lawrence Jones assisted Detective Williams and  relocated to a local hospital and later learned that the victim was presently in stable condition and was being prepped for surgery. 
Wanted: Unknown Fifth District Detectives are actively investigating this case.
